The Role

Working with and supporting the Test Specialist, this is an ideal opportunity for an individual to contribute to the delivery roadmap by using and sharing their skills/knowledge of testing methodologies and tools.

You will manage and be responsible for all assigned project test processes, including approach, test strategies, test plans, resources, costs, timescales, deliverables, and traceability.

You will need to take responsibility for test delivery and have hands on experience for manual and an appreciation of test automation principles, for any new developments and existing applications already in service. 

This opportunity will enable you to build your skillset to provide authoritative advice and guidance on all aspects of test planning and execution and will identify process improvements whilst contributing to definitions of best practice and corporate testing standards. You will define the test approach for projects and communicate this whilst managing client relationships with respect to testing matters.

The role will be responsible for undertaking assignments as required.

The Person
Essential role requirements:

  • A degree/professional testing qualification or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to co-ordinate test phases on projects and programmes, taking responsibility of defining the approach and assuring quality.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills facilitating successful delivery of projects and programmes.
  • Proficient in applying the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective specification of the testing and execution of tests throughout the lifecycle.
  • Experience of identifying, reporting and managing defects through the delivery cycle.
  • Proficient in the collection, analysis and reporting of testing metrics.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable:

  • Methods and techniques for structured reviews, including reviews of technical diagrams, test plans, business cases and any other key deliverables.
  • Knowledge of API and Database testing using SQL, Soap and Rest APIs.
  • Experience with Atlassian Test and Project Management tools.
  • Prior Automation Testing experience, tools, framework, maintenance, script writing etc.
  • Exposure to test platform tools (Saucelabs, Browserstack or similar).
  • Understanding the production of work time estimates.
  • Effective, approachable, and sensitive communicator in different societies and cultures.
  • Previous experience of working in a Higher Education environment.
  • Experience of dealing with third party vendors and supplier management.
