Front of House Catering Assistant

Based in the heart of Cambridge, St Catharine’s College is looking to appoint a full time Front of House Catering Assistant to join our busy, friendly Catering team, providing a first class service for our college community.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the day to day provision of catering services in the Main Hall, Function Rooms, Cafeteria servery and the Buttery, working as part of a team to deliver a first class, professional service to the College’s Fellows, students, staff, guests and commercial visitors.

It is an exciting time for our College with the development of our ‘Central Spaces’ and the catering team have moved into a new multi-million-pound kitchen, helping us to further improve our catering offer.

 The ideal candidate will be:

  • Practical, proactive and able to use their own initiative to carry out the duties to a high standard.
  • Courteous with a professional, can-do attitude and be committed to delivering a high quality service.
  • Positive & professional when interacting with our community and guests, at all times.
  • Able to respond to queries in a timely and efficient manner and be keen to take responsibility for dealing with issues to resolve them professionally.

 Employment arrangements

  • This is a permanent appointment (subject to a 6 month probation period). 
  • Full time hours are 40 hours per week, to be worked on a shift basis, including evenings and weekends.
  • Competitive salary of FTE £25,056 per annum.
