The University of Salford Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial management of the institution and its subsidiaries. The department is made up of a team of 80 staff and provides a full range of financial services to the University, including: payroll, financial systems, management and financial accounting services and a travel office. We operate a devolved system of planning and budgeting and the Finance team works closely with Academic Units and Professional Services to maximise opportunities and ensure financial sustainability.
The role of Finance Officer will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support across the range of finance functions within the Academic Finance team. The role is heavily focused guiding non finance staff through the finance department policies and procedures, budget monitoring and forecasting.
The role will be responsible for providing support and advice to Divisional staff and managers relating to budgeting, costing and financial procedures, including providing financial training and induction to non-finance staff.
