This appointment offers an exciting opportunity to join the University Finance Office, working as part of the team that delivers services within Warwick Medical School.
We are seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to work alongside the Senior Finance Assistant to process the financial transactions relating to purchases, sales and expense claims.
You will be currently working in or have recent experience within a finance department and will need to demonstrate the personal skills and abilities in financial processing necessary for the role. Ideally you will be AAT part-qualified or be willing to undertake the training.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
This post is a key member of the WMS Finance Transactional Team working alongside the Senior Finance Assistant to process financial transactions across the School.
The appointee will contribute to the efficient running of the Finance function in Warwick Medical School by ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently and in compliance with the University’s Financial Regulations and Procedures.
The postholder will be expected to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and Medical School staff to deliver excellent service and to promote good practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reviewing and processing purchase requisitions on OPeRA, the University’s e-procurement system, ensuring adherence to the University’s Financial Procedures and relevant VAT regulations.
2. Processing purchase invoices (goods receipt/checking discrepancies to orders raised).
3. Creation of ad hoc purchase orders on SAP system.
4. Creating sales orders, invoices and credit notes on SAP.
5. Processing travel and subsistence claims, ensuring compliance with the University’s Financial Regulations.
6. Processing ad hoc payments and claims.
7. Processing internal recharges.
8. Maintaining accurate and complete records for financial transactions.
9. Providing data for quarter end accruals.
10. Completing supplier statement reconciliations.
11. Running SAP reports for cost/profit centres and related codes.
12 Providing first line advice to School staff on financial processes and procedures.
13. Any other duties in line with the grade of the post.
