About the role
We are a small and successful team looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to act as lead tutor for our Health T level and to teach across a range of BTEC, T level and HE Health and Social Care programmes. Applicants should be qualified to level 6 or above in a Health or Science related field, or have equivalent experience, and will be able to teach a diverse range of topics which must include biology but may also include health, psychology, sociology, chemistry or physics.
Whilst this will primarily be classroom based, we also require candidates to have the digital skills to deliver effective lessons using a range of online resources and platforms (for example Microsoft teams or Blackboard). Our tutors will need to be adaptable, creative and resourceful in the face of the current challenges in education.
Industry experience and experience of teaching in an FE environment would be desirable, however, consideration will be given to recent graduates or industry experts with good communication skills who are looking to pursue a career in teaching. A financial contribution towards a Cert Ed/PGCE will be available to the right candidate.
Buxton and Leek College is graded as a "Good" college by OFSTED and has a team of dedicated staff who take pride in supporting learners towards their study and career goals. Our students have access to industry standard facilities, comprehensive support services and benefit from extensive links with the University of Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team on our journey to becoming an outstanding provider.
