Faculty Support Officer (Research)

The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education, Faculty Administration Team, is seeking to appoint a Faculty Support Officer to join an existing team who provide support for the Faculty over a range of activities.


The post-holder must be motivated , well-organised, have great attention to detail, with excellent communication skills and have an interest in research support administration.


This role will provide support for research and innovation in a range of impactful areas including Health, Care and Well-being, Applied Psychology, Sport and Exercise and, Criminology, Policing and International Security. Working with the Faculty Associate Dean for Research & Innovation and Research Group Leads
the post holder will be responsible for supporting the USW/ RIG research strategy including research data management, funding and innovation and the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
You will provide support for relevant committees and meetings and events as appropriate, maintaining accurate records on spreadsheets and databases and liaising with relevant colleagues both within the Faculty and at a University level. Specifically, focusing and on supporting research funding, innovation
and commercial activity, supporting the monitoring of outputs in the University repository, research impact, innovation and commercial activity. The role also involves assisting in organising research and innovation events and activities.


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the essential requirements which include excellent communication, record keeping and organisational skills as well as being an effective team worker.


The position is based at the USW Pontypridd (Glyntaff) Campus but could potentially require some travel to the Newport City Campus, subject to current / temporary home-working arrangements.
