The Academic Division and Faculty of English are inviting applications for a varied operational role, which sits at the heart of the Faculty of English (including the Department of Anglo Saxon, Norse and Celtic). In this central role, you will be liaising with a wide variety of academic staff, professional services colleagues in the Faculty and across the university. Working closely with the Faculty Administrator and Chair of Faculty Board, you will be responsible for many aspects of Faculty activity, including Committee support, research administration, internal and external communications, administrative projects, and other operational matters as they arise. Your role will be integral to the effective support of the Faculty's teaching and research and a high degree of flexibility and initiative is required to meet the varied demands of a large and complex faculty.

The broad range of activities within the role is an opportunity for a candidate with Higher Education administration experience, ideally in research support, HR or finance, to expand their knowledge and experience of Faculty/department administration. Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to contribute to the development of administrative systems and processes, be well organised and flexible in order to meet changing and competing priorities across a variety tasks in a busy working environment.
