Facilities Manager

The Department of Chemistry is looking for a part-time (0.6 FTE) Facilities Manager to work in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, South Parks Road, Oxford for a period of up to 54 months.

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day operations associated with the mass photometry facility to be housed in the Kavli Institute, South Parks Road at the University of Oxford. This post is available from 1st October 2021.

You will communicate with potential and current users and be involved with training in safe and correct use of the equipment. Provide assistance in data analysis, interpretation as well as experiment design. In addition, you will be responsible for all facility-related communications, including a website and regular social media alerts to inform the research community about the facility.

You will also be responsible for liaising with prospective users, booking and tracking visits, and organising logistics, as well as selecting proposals for facility use. You must have specialised and in-depth expertise on mass photometry and its various potential applications.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of managing projects and people, excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences.
