Based at

University of York - Heslington Campus

Salary

£24,565 - £30,175 a year

The University of York is offering a fulfilling opportunity for two experienced, professional administrators to join our growing Student Data and Management Information team within Student Services.

As the Higher Education sector has developed, the importance and demand for more timely, accurate and accessible data has increased both internally within institutions, and externally amongst data collectors, regulators, and statutory bodies. The administration of student data is increasingly complex and challenging as the demands increase and the drive towards a new information landscape is continuing to gain momentum through HESA’s Data Futures programme. As a consequence, we must continue to adapt and to pursue changes in the efficiency of the administration, collection and use of student data.

The Student Data and Management Information team are embarking on an ambitious programme of change across the University to ensure that data is accurate, timely and accessible, and works as an asset for the University.  The External Returns and Data Officer will work on a number of statutory data returns, including those to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the Student Loans Company (SLC).  They will also be in involved with maintaining background data setup, working on data quality improvements and creating standard reports to identify data quality issues and support the work of departments across the University.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Dan Parker, Head of Student Data and Management Information at dan.parker@york.ac.uk

Closing date: 29 August 2017

Interview date: 12 September 2017
