The University of East London (UEL) is looking for External Examiners to cover undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the School of Education and Communities | University of East London (uel.ac.uk)

Currently we have External Examiner roles available in the following areas: 

·    Early Childhood Studies 

·    Politics and international relations 

·    Psychosocial Studies 

·    Social Work (Social Work professional qualification required) 

·    Special Education 

·    Special Education (we also need a Greek speaking external to work with our collaborative courses in Greece) 

·    Youth and Community work (JNC professional qualification required) 

The successful applicants should: 

Have experience in teaching and assessments at a UK HE institution, have a good understanding of quality assurance issues at HE level, including the QAA Quality Code and have relevant subject knowledge and a post graduate qualification. Some roles require an additional professional qualification e.g., Qualified Teachers Status (QTS), registration with Social Work England or a JNC qualification in Youth Work. 

You will be required to liaise with module leaders, examine samples of assessed work and participate in assessment board meetings during the year and submit an annual report. 

Fees are determined on the number of modules you are assigned (you may be assigned up to 15 modules); we pay £65 per postgraduate module and £45 per undergraduate module, in addition to a £200 retainer which makes up the annual fee.
