Experimental Officer (Vibration Engineering)

This new full-time post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31st May 2025 (2.5 years)

Summary of the role

Working as part of an integrated Technical Support team, the primary role of this post is to contribute to the day-to-day and planned future support for activities required by both the Vibration Engineering Section (VES) and the new VSimulators experimental facility.  You will be expected to provide flexible support to the group especially during peaks of work. You will provide software, electronics, instrumentation and IT solutions to support the activities of the group.

This post is primarily to support research activities in the area of the Vibration Engineering Section as well as VSimulators. There will be UK domestic and international travel on occasion.

The duties set out in the job description constitute the primary role of the post holder but there is a clear expectation that the post holder will support other defined areas within the group.

Technical Services

We are research and teaching technical staff within all the universities new Faculties. We work in specialist areas across the University and beyond, theoretically-informing field-based approaches whilst promoting compliance and best practice.
