This new full–time post is available from immediately on a permanent basis

Summary of the role

The primary role of this post is to provide PA and administrative support to one Associate Dean and assist the Senior Executive Assistant to provide support to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of College Operations. The post holder will work together with the administrative pool within the team to support the work of the College Executive Group. A proactive, flexible approach and being able to adapt to changing priorities will be essential.

This is a varied, interesting and challenging role and as such we need people with excellent IT and organisation skills who are good communicators, good problem solvers and who have experience of being effective members of a very busy team.  Attention to detail, accuracy and a high standard in both written and oral communications are all essential requirements for the role, as is the ability to demonstrate total confidentiality. 

In addition to the post-holder, the Executive Support Team includes the Executive Officer, providing business management support to the PVC and Director of College Operations, Senior Executive Assistant, supporting the PVC and DCO,  Senior College Administrator supporting departmental activity, six Executive Assistants, supporting the Associate Deans and Heads of Department and one GBP. The Executive Office receives, manages and processes internal and external matters in relation to the College’s operation and business.

For this, the post-holder will require a broad overview and understanding of the College’s activities and of the constituent Disciplines/Centres and activities within the College.  The post-holder will also have to maintain commercial awareness, keeping up-to-date with current changes and developments in the University and Higher Education as a whole.

All members of the College’s Professional Services team are expected to support and develop the College’s objectives by providing high quality professional services to students, staff, visitors and clients.
