Background

The Council of Osteopathic Educational Institutions (“COEI”) is the representative body for the UK’s Osteopathic Institutions. The COEI is made up of the heads of the UK Osteopathic Institutions and its remit is to shape the future of osteopathic education in the UK.  

Underpinning the council are a subgroup of senior officer groups of representatives from UK osteopathic education, such as clinical leads, curriculum leads, assessment leads who meet to provide expert opinion on particular areas of osteopathic education.   

Together these groups form a body of experts which is able to define policy, share best practice and run projects. In this way the COEI  allows for the collaborative shaping of strategy and initiatives at a UK level whilst preserving the autonomy of the individual osteopathic institutions.  

Role

The Council is looking to appoint an Executive Administrator to support and work with the Chair and Directors of COEI to provide strategic direction under the guidance of the Directors to meet COEI’s objectives. This initially will be to work with the Directors and others to support the implementation of the new strategic plan and objectives for the Council to meet. The job will involve responding on behalf of COEI to sector consultations as well as supporting the operational workings of the group. 

Aside from strong and efficient administrative skills, this role requires someone who is comfortable with external facing duties, who can communicate effectively and with confidence.
