Brunel Medical School is part of the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, which is a leading provider of health professional education, including Medicine, Physician Associate, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Psychology programmes.

Brunel University London is recruiting a fixed-term (maternity cover) Examinations and Assessment Manager. This key role, will manage the examination and programmatic assessment processes across our 5-year MBBS and 2-year Physician Associate programme, including the planning, organisation and delivery of written, online and clinical assessments such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).

Working closely with the Academic Head of Assessment and Senior Student Programmes Manager, you will coordinate and contribute to the development of the assessment programme and prepare policy documents and related resources, also ensuring the assessment requirements meet GMC standards and align to the UK Medical Licensing Assessment (UKMLA). You will manage the development of new processes within the Medical School which meet the needs of the programme, as well as align to University regulations. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the assessment management software, as well as develop and deliver training to faculty and other stakeholders as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified professional, with excellent understanding and experience of assessment administration and related processes, as well as experience of ensuring data accuracy and integrity. You will need to have excellent communication and team working skills together with a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to use your own initiative and to think critically.  The successful candidate will ideally also possess:

  • Experience in a professional services role, preferably in a Medical School or other academic environment
  • A strong track record of leading and managing successful teams
  • The ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • A demonstrable profile of career-enhancing Continuing Professional Development
