The Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations is looking to recruit an enthusiastic self-motivated event professional to join the University Events and Conference team.
The Directorate is responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with the University’s external environment and stakeholders. Bringing together the areas of Marketing & Communications, Student Recruitment and External Relations, the Directorate is responsible for the strategic planning and operational delivery of key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity, increased profile and that gives greater engagement with our friends to support that ambition both in kind and through philanthropic support.
Within External Relations the University Events and Conference team are responsible for planning, managing and delivering all University led events with the aim of raising the profile of the University and building and stewarding strategic relationships with its stakeholders and key external constituencies. In addition the team is tasked with generating revenue through the hire of University facilities on a commercial basis as well as providing event management for the delivery of academic conferences and association business. This service provides profile for the University, an income stream and also contributes to regional economic impact through business tourism activity.
This role will report directly to the Head of Events and Conferences and will assist in the planning and management of Graduation and other key corporate University events. The role-holder will be responsible for managing and delivering a programme of high quality events that raises the profile of the University whilst nurturing the relationships with its key stakeholders; prospects, donors, honorary graduates, funding partners, local audiences and communities, alumni etc.
