Faculty / Directorate

The Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; faculty marketing and recruitment; reputation management; media relations and public affairs; internal and external communications engagement; events; admissions, schools and colleges engagement; widening participation; enquiry management and follow up; web and digital development and market insight.

Role

This new pivotal role will provide leadership to the development of a diverse and relevant events programme across student recruitment, student facing and student experience, and corporate/profile raising events for DMU.

As the Events Manager, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the university to ensure our events are aligned with the strategic aims of the university. You will inspire creativity and innovation within the team, driving performance excellence and staying ahead of industry trends to maintain our competitive edge.

In partnership with colleagues and partners you will ensure digital enterprise and innovation is at the forefront of how DMUs events are considered, taking a modern approach to event planning, audience engagement and delivery. You will also take an active role identify and supporting commercial opportunities and income generation relating to events for the university.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have significant and proven experience of running large scale events as part of an overall events programme and substantial experience managing complex event projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

You will possess strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of developing and managing effective teams to provide an outstanding service. It is essential that you are able to work collaboratively and possess the ability to successfully develop and manage positive stakeholder relationships, including the ability to influence and negotiate, as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing events within higher education or further education, although we also welcome candidates from outside the education sector.
