ResLifeBU is a student led programme of activities and services focusing on the enablement and development of inclusive and self-supporting student communities within BU’s student accommodation. ResLifeBU has three core aims of providing: inclusive events and activities that assist with the process of social integration; wellbeing information and guidance to assist with the ups and downs of transitioning into university life; and support with the development of the skills required for independent living.

The role of ‘Events and Activities Coordinator’ is an exciting opportunity to join the ResLifeBU team and support the core day-to-day operations, primarily delivering a comprehensive calendar of activities and events across the student halls of residence. You will be getting involved in all areas of the programme with the planning, promotion and running of events, procurement or resources and management of finances as well as providing administrative support to the ResLifeBU Officers. You will also be supervising a team of our part-time Resident Assistants living and working among the halls of residence on a day-to-day basis.

The successful candidate will be studying / or have studied a relevant qualification and/or have experience in a previous relevant job role, have a creative and mature approach to life and their work and, ideally, will have experience of living in student halls of residence. This is a very exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System . Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.  

This position is available on a fixed-term basis from 1st July 2024 until 30th June 2025.
