Epidemiologist (Cancer Epidemiology Unit and UK Biobank)

Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups including the Cancer Epidemiology Unit and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.

We are seeking to appoint a researcher to support the delivery of an exciting new programme of work addressing important outstanding questions about the associations of ethnicity and breast cancer. The focus of the role of the researcher will be to support delivering the research objectives of this project, as well as helping to develop future research programmes. The post-holder will be part of an epidemiological team that helps conduct the scientific review of applications to use the UK Biobank resource, and of annual reports and other outputs, from researchers currently using the resource.

To be considered for the role you will be educated to a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be close to completion), in epidemiology, statistics or a related subject. Proficiency in the use of relevant standard software packages used for analysis e.g. Stata would be essential for this post. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project would be desirable.
