Role Description
About the Role
As part of the Energy & Environment Team within Facilities the role involves managing the University’s energy management system to ISO 50001, planning, prioritising, and delivering energy and water saving projects on the estate. Providing energy and water saving advice, monitoring and targeting carbon reduction opportunities. Maintaining an information system to provide accurate data for reporting.
About You
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject you will be able to demonstrate the required experience of energy systems, energy monitoring and targeting and the deliver energy saving projects. Working effectively within a team or on individually assigned projects you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of climate change issues and will have a proven track record of developing and implementing policies and procedures. Proficient in report writing and able to provide detailed analysis primarily using excel you will also be able to demonstrate
the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels across the University and influencing senior stakeholders when necessary.

The team manages energy and environmental issues for the University estate and provides advice and support to the individual schools, departments and tenants. This includes energy and water procurement, recharging, waste management, sustainable transport, grounds management, biodiversity and pest management. We are also responsible for the University’s Carbon Management Plan, reporting for the SECR, and coordinating ISO 50001, ISO 14001 and Energy and Environmental Management Systems implementation and development.
