2607724DAAt the University of Southampton, we are at the forefront of technological innovation in sensor research and development. Our dedicated team is seeking an ElectroMechanical Engineer to join us in pioneering the future of microfluidic-based sensors for nutrient and biomarker monitoring.
The Role:
You will be a key player in developing prototype devices that push the boundaries of sensor technology. Your role will involve:
Capturing Requirement Specifications: Understanding and documenting the needs for prototype devices.
Mechanical Concept Development: Utilizing sketches and SolidWorks to design mechanical components.
Electronic Circuit Boards: Designing and coordinating the outsourced fabrication of electronic components.
Prototyping: Creating prototypes using various methods including 3D printing, machining, micromachining, and soldering.
Testing and Assembly: Ensuring that prototypes meet specified requirements through rigorous assembly and testing processes.
Calibration Jigs: Fabricating and assembling necessary calibration equipment.
Technical Documentation: Maintaining detailed technical files and preparing comprehensive 2D/3D data packs.
Who You Are:
Qualifications: Degree in ElectroMechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in sensor development is highly desirable.
Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, circuit design, 3D printing, and other prototyping techniques.
Characteristics: A hands-on approach, ability to work independently, and strong teamwork skills.
