We have a part-time (0.6FTE) post available on a permanent basis. This would be 21.9 hours per week, to commence in the Spring. (Please note, the salary above is the full-time equivalent, and the actual salary will be pro rata, based on 21.9 hours a week).

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

Summary of the role

The role is part of the University’s Wellbeing and Welfare Team, operationally based within Education Support. The Education Welfare Officer will be managed by an Education Welfare Advisor who will has responsibility for a package of Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study (HWSS) activity and general welfare support.

This post will be expected to provide support to the Education Welfare Advisors, hold welfare meetings with students to ascertain appropriate signposting routes, assist on Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study meetings and deliver on any actions agreed in the meetings, keep accurate and up to date notes from meetings and escalate any concerns in a timely manner.

We are looking for a committed and organised individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and a good knowledge of confidentiality and Data Protection issues. The successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for supporting our students and the ability to remain calm and resilient when dealing with complex welfare situations.
