Summary of the role
A full-time fixed term Education Welfare Advisor post is available to commence from the 15th April 2024 for twelve months as part of the University’s Wellbeing and Welfare Team, operationally based within Education Support (Hubs). The post would be a good secondment opportunity for interested colleagues within the University.
Education Welfare Advisors are managed by the Pathway Lead – Education Welfare, but will be expected to maintain an essential communicative and casework relationship within the programme Education Support team. The Education Support Team provides support for teaching administration and delivery of all University of Exeter taught programmes.
These positions offer an exciting opportunity for those wishing to develop their career in Education Support, with an interest in supporting students with additional and sometimes complex needs. We are looking for compassionate, committed and resilient individuals who have the required experience and skills to join this busy team.
You will provide a high level of wellbeing support and advice through the Health, Wellbeing and Support for Study process, as well as guidance relating to our taught programmes of study. You will maintain an extensive knowledge of internal and external wellbeing support services in order to signpost students effectively. An interest in, or experience of events management will also be useful in these roles.
The successful applicants for these posts will have experience of working flexibly both as part of a team and by working independently to deliver an outstanding customer service experience. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as experience of coordinating support for individuals with health and wellbeing needs.
