EDUCATION PLANNING PROFESSIONAL

to work in a team supporting the Faculty of Science on Kumpula Campus. In this development-oriented role, you will be a proactive partner for degree programme directors and will deputise for the head of academic affairs. You will both carry out practical duties involving degree programmes and contribute to the broad-based promotion of matters under the responsibility of Teaching and Learning Services. As part of your practical duties, you will support the coordinators of the bachelor’s and master’s programmes in geosciences and geography in the development of teaching and learning. Your core duties will include curriculum design, timetabling and the provision of day-to-day support to teachers and students.

Based on Kumpula Campus, our team consists of 14 teaching and learning services professionals with a positive attitude to development and a commitment to seamless collaboration with the Faculty’s teachers and students. The present position of education planning officer is placed on level 10 of the job requirement scheme for specialist and support staff in the salary system of Finnish universities. The salary will range between €4,000 and €4,200, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience.

You hold a master’s degree and have experience in education planning and the development of teaching in a higher education environment. Pedagogical training will be considered an asset. The main language skills needed in our international work community are fluent Finnish and English.

Teaching and Learning Services

Teaching and Learning Services of the University of Helsinki provides supports for students and degree programmes. Together with teachers, we create a well-functioning learning environment for our students. We are a unit of roughly 350 professionals in several separate service entities. We are responsible for the University’s educational planning, student and career guidance, educational technology, admissions services, mobility services for students and staff, the Student Register, counselling psychologist services, academic administration and support for Swedish-language education. In addition, we are involved in preparing and coordinating strategic decision-making related to university education.
