Education and Student Support Administrator

The Education Data and Insight Team are based within the Education Administration Office within Education and Student Experience. We’re a service team who provide operational reporting, management information, analysis and insight, and administrative support to a variety of stakeholders across the university. We perform a key role within the university, helping to drive forward decision-making and providing the evidence base for action or helping to change perceptions. We work closely with other teams in the university, in particular the Student Resolution Service who provide enhanced support and resolution for students whose experience does not go smoothly, and manage risk associated with these high risk and psychologically challenging matters on behalf of the University.  

- Provide administrative support to a number of teams within the Education Administration Office, in particular supporting the Student Resolution Service. You’ll service a variety of meetings, carry out diary management, undertake initial case management, create and update relevant documentation. This work will involve interaction with high risk and psychologically challenging student casework requiring high levels of emotional intelligence.

- Routine communication with students and staff. Responding to queries and requests for information as required and in line with University policy and procedure, whilst maintaining confidentiality and adherence to GDPR.

- Understand how the student lifecycle at the University of Bristol works. You’ll learn about operational processes and the data they generate, and how to turn that data into knowledge and insight.

- Provide great looking, easy to use and accessible reporting products that everyone in the university can tap into. You support the reporting needs of the University, help the division and the wider university make decisions.

- Support key operational processes. You’ll provide operational support for key processes throughout the year, including exam board reporting, registrations reporting, fee and FTE reporting, Alumni Discounts processing & engagement monitoring.

- Ensure all outputs are documented and quality checked. You’ll write and update technical documentation, and where necessary feed into training documentation.  You will self-review work to ensure it meets standard, as well as peer review work from other team members.

- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with potentially distressing matters with tact and sensitivity.
- You’ve got proven administrative experience and have excellent attention to detail.
- You’re highly organised and can manage a number of different tasks at the same time.
- You work well under pressure and are able to produce accurate work to deadlines.
- You have proven experience of working with confidential and sensitive data. 

Desirable:
- You’ve got a keen interest in statistics and data analysis.
- You’ve got a solid understanding of University processes and the related data.
- You’ve got proven experience of using Excel or Access to produce reports. 

Contract type: Open ended

Salary: £26,444-£29,605 per annum
