Salary Grade 8 (£45,585 – £54,395 p.a.) Depending on experience

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.  We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The purpose of this newly created role is to lead the design and delivery of a breadth of EDI-related learning and development methods across the institution. It is a varied, exciting and challenging role that will help foster a culture of inclusion and excellence at the University.

We are looking for a committed and experienced EDI professional who has a passion for engaging colleagues in EDI through learning and development. The role-holder will be expected to develop and implement an institutional, strategic EDI Learning and Development Plan, to enable the roll-out of high-quality, academically credible EDI training initiatives through a variety of delivery methods, such as in-person workshops, e-learning and blended learning.

The role-holder will be required to develop and deliver training on a wide variety of EDI topics and create bespoke sessions for Faculties, Schools and Professional Services. A specific focus of the role will also be to deliver workshops and interventions on culture and behaviour change, particularly in relation to preventing bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct. These interventions will be delivered to staff at all levels, including very senior academics.

Other key duties will include developing and coordinating EDI-related leadership development programmes, in close partnership with Organisational Development and Professional Learning.

Strong knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, related employment law and an up-to-date, demonstrable understanding of equity, inclusion and social justice issues and concepts in contemporary higher education are essential.
