This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the University to achieve its ambitions to become an anti-racist organisation and provide an inclusive environment for both staff and students and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential at Cardiff University. This role reports to the Head of EDI in the EDI Hub, located in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The EDI Hub is a brand-new team that will facilitate change in Cardiff University and will be integral to supporting the University to become anti-racist. 

The EDI Hub has responsibility for leading implementation of the University’s Strategic Equality Plan, engagement with equality Charter Marks, and ensuring good governance of EDI decisions. An initial priority for the team will be to review the governance arrangements of EDI in the University, including formalising Steering Groups and introducing programme boards. Steering Groups will oversee the University’s engagement with Charter Marks and the programme boards will oversee the delivery of the Strategic Equality Plan.

This position is a leadership role within the EDI Hub and will support the Head of EDI to implement new ways of working in the University. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across University departments, Colleges and Schools to build relationships and manage the delivery of organisational wide change.

This role will have responsibility for implementation of Cardiff University’s Strategic Equality Plan and corresponding action plans, including our Race Equality Action Plan. The successful candidate will lead change in the University by introducing programme boards to manage the implementation of the Strategic Equality Plan. The role will also manage the University’s EDI Committee, providing advice and support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor who chairs this committee. Through line management responsibilities the successful candidate will support good governance across EDI decision making.

The post is full-time and fixed term until 31 July 2025.

Salary: £49,794 - £54,395 per annum (Grade 7)
