About the role:

The Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisor is responsible for providing expert guidance and support to the business in all matters related to EDI. This role involves advising on policies, practices, and strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. The EDI Advisor collaborates with various departments to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive environment for all employees.

You will be required to put forward recommendations on managing more complex situations, having regard to their impact and consequences. You will be expected to identify gaps in information and conduct analyses to solve/resolve problems and issues with short-term consequences.

There will be a need for liaison and the co-ordination of activities across a number of subsections of a School/Department/University. The work will involve encountering changing priorities and differing situations.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Degree, HND, NVQ 4 qualified or equivalent in relevant subject/relevant formal training, plus relevant experience in similar or related roles. 
  • Proven experience in HR/EDI, including program development, project management, policies and training development. 
  • In-depth knowledge of EDI principles, regulations, and best practices. 
  • Exceptionally detail-orientated, with the ability to balance multiple priorities concurrently, independently, and successfully 
  • In-depth knowledge of working with MS Office packages, alongside strong digital literacy and data management skills, along with proficiency in data analysis and reporting 
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. 
  • Desirable criteria

  • Programme and Change management experience 
  • Experience of consulting on EDI, wellbeing, engagement and workplace culture activities. 
  • Microsoft Power Platform experience (e.g. Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
