Domestic Assistants - Part time

20 hours a week; 3 x permanent and 2 x maternity cover

Part-time Salary £10,245 per annum

Newnham College wishes to recruit up to part-time DOMESTIC ASSISTANTS each working 20 hours per week, 3 on a permanent basis and 2 to cover maternity leave. Working with a team of Domestic Assistants and Hall Porters, this role is to keep all areas of the College clean and tidy. This is an active job requiring a good level of physical fitness. Some heavy lifting and working at height might also be involved. Excellent customer service skills and a can-do, positive manner are important to this role.

The salary for working 20 hours a week is £10,245 per annum, from a full-time salary of £19,209. This equates to point 21 on the University single salary spine and an hourly rate of £9.80. Your working hours will be on 5 days out of 7, so will involve some weekend working and therefore flexibility is expected.  This opportunity attracts other benefits as a College employee, including 33 days (pro rata) a year holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), free lunches when on duty, parking where available, use of the College gym and access to the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme.
