Divisional Financial Controller, Medical Sciences
Summary:
The University of Oxford, a global leader in education and research, invites applications for the position of Divisional Financial Controller (DFC), a £700m turnover enterprise, within the esteemed Medical Sciences Division. This senior leadership role plays a pivotal part in shaping the financial governance, management, and strategy of the Division, contributing significantly to its short, medium, and long-term success.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial governance, management, and strategy for the Medical Sciences Division, aligning with academic objectives.
- Act as a trusted partner, offering leadership, support, and advice to key stakeholders, including the Head of Division and Divisional Registrar.
- Play a crucial role in the strategic planning activities of the Division, working closely with the Head of Strategic Planning and the Medical Sciences Board.
- Provide visible leadership of the finance function, serving as the point of professional engagement for finance staff in departments.
- Create a financial environment that enables departments to optimise financial sustainability by effectively managing competing claims on resources.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality financial and business information to the Division and the central University.
- Impartially convey the consequences of decisions, building trust among all parties.
