Applications are invited for the post of Divisional Administrator within Division D (Civil, Structural, Construction and Environmental & Sustainable Development) based at the Department's Civil Engineering Building in West Cambridge.

The Divisional Administrator is the administrative lead for the Division, directly supporting the Head of Division, who provides intellectual and managerial leadership. The Divisional Administrative Office is the centre for supporting teaching and research activities and for the "central" administrative functions relating to staff, space, resources and finance in the same way as a small/medium sized department elsewhere in the University.

The Divisional Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration activities and process of the Civil Engineering Division and plays a key role in ensuring that an efficient and effective administrative environment is provided for the academic staff in the Division, and in particular the Head of Division, as well as maintaining the smooth operation of the Divisional Administrative Office.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level/Level 6 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience and will possess excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied and heavy workload. The ability to understand, interpret, manage and design administrative processes (ideally with specific knowledge of University administrative processes), together with previous experience in a senior administrative role, including staff management, is required.

The ability to work as part of a team, providing clear leadership, plus excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are also essential attributes for this role.
