We're thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Birkbeck's Wellbeing Services as a full-time Disability Advisor. This role is integral to our mission of providing equal opportunities and fostering an inclusive environment for all students.

  • An annual salary of £37,143, rising to £42,365
  • A full-time position with a 35-hour work week
  • An open-ended contract with hybrid working

As our Disability Advisor at Birkbeck University, you'll be:

  • Managing a large caseload of students with complex and cooccurring conditions and needs.
  • Responding to student enquiries and contributing to the administration that ensures student support needs are met.
  • Identifying appropriate, individualised support packages and facilitating the provision of appropriate adaptations and support.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of workshops, activities, and resources.
  • Providing training and guidance to academic and professional service staff on a range of topics.
  • Leading on specific projects as required and maintaining up-to-date, clear and accurate student records.

We're looking for a Disability Advisor who:

  • Has an empathic understanding of the difficulties experienced by people with disabilities.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of disability legislation and accessibility issues in education.
  • Has experience of developing, implementing, and managing innovative and efficient administrative and monitoring systems.
  • Has excellent organisational, time management, and IT skills.
  • Has experience working in a senior administrative role within Further or Higher Education and/or other relevant professional experience.
  • Is proactive, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively within a team.

Remuneration

£37,143, rising to £42,365 per annum, Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale.

Terms and Conditions
