Job Title: Director of Student Services - London Undergraduate and Postgraduate Campuses 

Reports To: Sr. Director of Operations – Undergraduate 

The Opportunity  

The Director of Student Services, for both the London Undergraduate and Postgraduate campuses, is responsible for the overall functioning and performance of the Student Services team, providing day-to[1]day leadership and direction regarding policies, practices, student experience, health insurance, and experience in the student tenure while attending Hult; and other areas defined in collaboration with the Director(s) of Campus Operations. 

The Director will create a vision for the Student Services team for each campus population, and lead  

diverse programming related to student health and holistic programming focused on student growth  

(life/living, budgeting, living/getting around London, student life enrichment, global rotation,  

onboarding, orientation, graduation, and the execution of student journey events. 

Similarly, this individual will be an advocate globally within Hult for the function, working closely with his or her counterparts at other campuses to ensure global consistency across all campuses. The Director of  Student Services will be expected to work with a wide range of colleagues both internal and external, to Hult and act as a point of expertise in student life, life in London, health insurance, and additional administrative areas. This position involves a great deal of interaction with international students, and cultural sensitivity and a keen interest in student support is crucial. 

Responsibilities  

Management, Communication, and Compliance  

Owner of department management and communications on major pivotal campus programming in  

alignment with Campus Dean and Operations Director. In addition, remain vigilant in upholding and  

enforcing compliance with all local UK laws, as well as all institutional policies. 

  • Leads and represents expertise in the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring safety of students, consistency of practice and maintenance of optimum service levels
  • Provides leadership, analysis, and advice to Hult staff in relation to policies and procedures regarding students (and services for students), including risk management
  • Facilitate high levels of staff communication to current and incoming students by developing strategies, creating content, and providing editorial support
  • Take the lead on the development of student health resources, the implementation of the student health insurance plan and related policies. Ensure students are provided with resources that minimize health-related disruptions of student life or students’ ability to successfully complete their degree
  • Be the global advocate for Student Services in London serving in an advisory role for other departments such as Academic or Career Services, and ensuring that program, policy, and procedural decisions made on a global level comply with any and all relevant regulations
  • Refer students to relevant services, including academic support, disability support, student welfare and counseling, and others
  • Maintains continuous standard of professionalism in correspondence with and to students, confidentiality and escalations when applicable to Hult leadership

Student Experience Programmatic Leadership  

Drive the strategic planning for the development and implementation of student experience strategies ensuring that both short-term and long-term programming goals are met or exceeded. 

  • Maintains budget planning in collaboration with the Operations Director, project management, and execution of all campus events, including but not limited to open houses, Graduation, Orientation, Hult Prize Competitions, End of term celebrations, cultural events, educational/scholar support, club activities, and guest speakers
  • Oversees the quality execution of all Student Services operations including events, clubs, communications, and study body non-academic policies

Team Development and Oversight  

Be responsible for the recruitment, training, performance assessment, and day-to-day supervision of the Student Services staff. 

  • Manages a team of Student Services and Events Coordinators and student workers
  • Manages internal and external communications channels such as newsletter and social media campaigns
  • Delegates ownership of projects and functional oversight for continual training and upskilling of staff

Student Support Programs/Clubs & Organizations  

Develop, manage, and evaluate programs geared toward assisting students in areas such as housing, academic and life counseling, transportation, and other essential life skills. 

  • Assess needs of the academic programs (UG & PG) and work with campus stakeholders to map out student journey timelines and appropriate events and programming to support the populations for the academic year. 
  • Serves as a liaison between administration/faculty and the study body, while also maintaining a professional lens of integrity and brand for Hult International Business School with direction to ensure a positive educational experience
  • Serve as a key contact with Hult Student Association and student organizations to cultivate and maintain relationships and manage election cycle for each population
  • Develop within Undergraduate and Postgraduate campuses institutional knowledge handover for student groups yearly. Passing a playbook to next President with information about the club and prior years operational lens, programming/costs, and structure

Reporting and Data Analysis  

Regularly produce weekly or monthly reports as specified, employing thorough analytical techniques to identify potential challenges and solutions. 

  • Owner of curating and sending semesterly dashboards to campus stakeholders showcasing student data per program: intake, nationality/country, name, program, courses, student account holds, LOA, Honor Code Violations, etc
  • Monthly assessment curation of event attendance, social media engagement, and cost spending

Miscellaneous Duties  

Undertake any other responsibilities as mandated, to support the department’s overall effectiveness and objectives. 

  • For both UG and PG campus events, source and influence support of Hult staff members to assign volunteer staff for chaperoning support where needed
  • Other duties as assigned

*This role, given its campus oversight, would be required to have presence on the 

Undergraduate campus 2 days a week, Postgraduate campus 2 days a week, and 1 work from 

home day a week.

Qualifications:  

• Education and Experience:  

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution and at least  

five to seven years of experience in a comparable role are required. Candidates with a  

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience will be given  

strong preference. 

The successful candidate must be capable of satisfactorily fulfilling each essential duty  

listed above. The stipulated qualifications encapsulate the essential knowledge, skills,  

and abilities necessary for effective performance in this role.
