The Opportunity:

This is a challenging and wide-ranging post in which you will support the Head of the School and the College Registrar in the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, providing professional advice and taking day-to-day responsibility for managing and further developing the operations of the School to enable it to achieve its objectives in research, learning and teaching and external engagement. You will have specific responsibility for determining and implementing the School's financial strategy, in conjunction with the Head of School and School Management Group, and for managing and developing the School's professional and support staff.

Your skills and attributes for success:

With substantial experience at a senior level plus excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, you will also need to demonstrate a commitment to excellence and high-quality service, as well as a clear understanding of and engagement with academic objectives. You should hold a good honours degree or equivalent and have experience of managing people, processes and fiscal resources, preferably in a University environment. A confident IT user, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to manage projects and contribute to strategic management.
