The Nuffield Department of Population Health contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, The Ethox Centre is an internationally recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre and is a vibrant and intellectually exciting place to work.
The provision of high-quality innovative teaching in ethics and law to Oxford medical students has been a core priority of the Ethox Centre for more than 20 years. In this exciting role you will be responsible for the oversight and provision of ethics and law teaching to Oxford medical students. You will also manage your own specialist grant funded ethics research projects, including the operational management of the researchers on those grants. This will involve setting clear task objectives, developing productive working relations and line-managing other members of the team.
To be considered for this post you will hold a relevant PhD, together with post qualification experience, experience of high-quality teaching and assessment in ethics and law to medical students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and experience of curriculum design or re-design. You will also have an established (inter)national reputation and publication record in medical ethics and extensive experience of conducting research in clinical ethics, research ethics, global health ethics, or population health ethics.
Informal enquiries should be addressed to Prof Michael Parker ([email protected]). For more information about the Ethox Centre please visit http://www.ethox.ox.ac.uk.
The position is full time (although part time considered) and fixed term for 3 years in the first instance.
The closing date for applications is noon on 12th August 2021.
