Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education), our Director of Careers and Enterprise provides strategic guidance to senior colleagues at the university and professional leadership of our dynamic Careers & Enterprise team whose mission is to ensure that Durham students graduate with the skills, abilities and experiences needed to become highly-skilled leaders of the future. Through engagement and collaboration with colleagues, employers, innovation hubs and internship providers nationally and globally, you will be responsible for ensuring that the university fulfills its key strategic objectives for student employment, enterprise and progression.

You must be able to demonstrate operating at a strategic/expert level and successful experience leading and managing careers and enterprise services. You will evidence developing innovative solutions and practical implementations to drive strategic change, and strong networks and working relationships that influence positive perceptions of the university and its students. To apply you will have an analytical approach and breadth of vision gained from extensive experience, specialist knowledge and expertise in the field, and a well-developed understanding of higher education, careers and enterprise in a global context. You will also be an excellent team leader with strong networking and interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate change in the external environment and influence at a strategic level.
