Arden University is the largest independent Higher Education provider in the UK. We work with our students, lecturers and support teams to deliver the best outcomes for our stakeholders. Over the last few years, we have grown significantly to circa 27,000 students and 1,300 staff. We have significantly developed our capabilities and systems for managing the data and qualitative intelligence that we collect, and now seek to turn that capability in to stories to direct action, through the development of an institutional Insights Engine.

This is a significant senior leadership position, coming at an exciting and challenging time of change for us. You will play a high-profile role, leading our work in this area and making a direct contribution to our operational and strategic objectives. You will lead a team of data analysts who support our customer insights, student success and regulatory activities and provide insights on the academic performance and satisfaction of our students.

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Effectiveness, Quality and Compliance, this role will help direct priorities, exploiting new approaches to data analysis, deriving insight from research and intelligence and exploring new ways of sharing data and insight across the University. You will bring innovation and vision to the role, together with the required gravitas to work and influence across the organisation at all levels. You will bring a fresh perspective to the way we think and how we use our data and research to support decision making to drive student success.

Our organisation is built on putting our students first. We have embarked on a major investment strategy and action plan to significantly improve the outcomes of our students, of whom 80% come from underrepresented groups in higher education.

About You:

You will have deep and demonstrable expertise in leading data analysis functions at a senior level, exceptional strategic thinking skills, and a proven track record of supporting organisational objectives through the innovative use of data and research. You will bring outstanding interpersonal skills, together with the ability to lead and further develop high performing teams. Politically astute with outstanding relationship-building and communication skills, you will demonstrate the insight, analytical skills, strategic vision and determination to get things done in a unique University.
