Charles Sturt University is undergoing an exciting transformation that will see a far-reaching strategic re-positioning of teaching, learning, research and innovation.
With recent appointments to the positions of Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, the University now seeks an outstanding leader as its next Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic (DVC A).
This is an opportunity to join the leadership team of Australia’s largest regionally based university as it enters a decade of great reform.
The DVC A is responsible for the academic leadership of the University. This includes responsibility for the operations of Charles Sturt University’s three academic Faculties and associated Schools and for learning and teaching support services (Division of Learning and Teaching, Division of Library Services and Division of Student Success).
The DVC A is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the University’s course profile and, with the University’s Academic Senate, for course and learning and teaching quality. The DVC A works with other senior executives and senior managers across the University to progress the strategic objectives of the University and to drive business improvement by ensuring that the University is strongly focussed on student success and the student experience.
The ideal candidate will have proven success in a senior academic leadership and management role, underpinned by a recognised academic profile and relevant qualifications. A demonstrated ability to successfully lead the development of academic strategies, learning and teaching quality, course profile and curriculum for online and on campus delivery will be essential.
The University is looking for an inspiring leader with excellent communication skills and a highly collaborative style.
