The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN) is seeking a professional, service-focussed Deputy Facilities Manager to maintain the research environment that supports our world class research programmes. NDCN is a dynamic, growing department, with labs in multiple sites, and a new building due to open in 2019. As the Deputy Facilities Manager you will work with and report to the Facilities Manager to ensure the highest standard of practice for work undertaken in the labs, that equipment is maintained in good working order, and that the department meets all legal requirements in relation to Health and Safety whilst facilitating the growth of a wide range of research themes.
You will have a life sciences or related background, with demonstrable experience of working in and awareness of issues related to research laboratories and facilities management. To be effective in the role you will have excellent written and oral communication skills, in order to liaise with researchers, students, other university staff and external bodies to provide an efficient and safe working environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of facilities support staff and the technical and support services which make up the facilities provision for the department in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
