This key role involves big-picture thinking, providing leadership, and coordinating responsibilities for a dedicated team. Collaborating with the Director of Procurement, you will strategically develop and lead the Procurement team, aligning operationally with the overall University strategy and external drivers. We are seeking an innovative and strategic professional to help enhance the integrity and quality of procurement services.

We need passionate, energetic people who are up for the challenge of delivering transformation, who have a real hands-on experience of driving through Procurement change. We need inspirational leaders to take people on this journey. You will be using your deep procurement strategy and leadership experience to build help build and run efficient and effective procurement services across the University.

The role carries the responsibility of ensuring consistent approaches to procurement while ensuring stakeholders grasp our approach. The position offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement leader to contribute to the University's success. The role involves supporting and delivering Sustainable and Responsible Procurement practices, as well as achieving value for money on external spend. The post holder will offer strong management and leadership for the Procurement Team, providing specialist advice, guidance, and training on leading procurement techniques within a category-led environment.

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the post holder will be a key member of the Finance, Planning, and Change Directorate leadership team. The role emphasises the efficient allocation of resources, driving efficiencies, process improvements, and supplier rationalisation. Leadership behaviours will role model responsiveness and innovation, positively influencing perceptions regarding the added value effective procurement services can deliver.
