About The Role
We are excited to be recruiting for a Deputy Director of Finance to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our ambitious plans for Falmouth University and our partner organisation, Falmouth Exeter Plus.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance, Audit & Risk, this role plays a key contributory factor in the university meeting its strategic targets by ensuring the implementation and embedding of our mission, vision and values across our culture. Deputising for the Executive Director both in their absence and as the delegated professional in allocated areas of responsibility involving influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders.
The role requires a candidate with energy, an enthusiastic approach and a can-do attitude who can work well within a team. There will be a particular focus developing and enhancing the quality of financial management information & reporting as a business partnering service, ensuring budget resources are aligned with activity and outcomes consistent with the University Strategy Plan.
You will also be key to the provision of the finance service for our partner organisation, Falmouth Exeter Plus , joining the senior leadership team and producing financial information to ensure that they achieve their strategic and operational plans.
This is an exciting time to join the team at Falmouth as we develop new modes of study and build on the entrepreneurial approach that we have developed over recent years. To that end, this role will be pivotal in ensuring we achieve our strategic ambitions. The role will be challenging but will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to make an impact and develop professionally.
About You
The successful candidate will have significant experience in the management of financial issues within a complex organisation and experience of working with and influencing management teams and governing bodies at senior level. Alongside these key skills, you will bring new ideas and challenge conventional thinking, be flexible and be able to translate concepts into workable best-fit solutions for the organisation.

We operate a hybrid flexible approach to working with the opportunity to work from home and either campus. An on-campus presence will be required on a weekly basis of at least 2 days a week.
