Departmental Lecturer in French Linguistics

The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages and the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology, and Phonetics are seeking a Departmental Lecturer for 12 months from 01 October 2022. 

The appointee will engage in advanced teaching and academic research in French Linguistics. This will include giving lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and graduate students, contributing to the teaching, research, and academic administration of the Sub-Faculty of French and Faculty of Linguistics, Philology, and Phonetics, and pursuing an independent research programme.

Applicants should also possess a PhD or D.Phil. related to French Linguistics. The selection committee will, in exceptional cases, consider applications from those still to complete their doctorate, provided that they will have submitted it by 01 October for the post. You should possess the ability to teach undergraduate students across a range of topics in French Linguistics; and to produce high quality research work/publications within the field of French Linguistics. You should have exceptional fluency in French and English.
