Departmental Lecturer in Engineering Science (Formula Student)

We are seeking a full-time Departmental Lecturer to join the Department of Engineering Science. The post is fixed term for a period of 4 years.

The main teaching focus of this role is to lead the Department’s activity in the Formula Student competition. There will also be opportunities to contribute to other departmental teaching activities. The post is intended as a career development opportunity to enable someone to develop an independent research career, alongside the Formula Student activity. You will provide the academic lead for the department’s annual entry to the Formula Student competition, organise and supervise the students taking place in the competition, as well as engage in advanced research and other activities consistent with an early career development post in the department. 

You should hold a PhD/DPhil with post qualification research experience at a higher level, including a strong publication record, the ability to develop and to lead a research group, and an aptitude and interest for teaching. The skills and experience to lead Oxford’s Formula Student team is essential.
