You will have a key role in University-wide projects to prepare for external inspections and audits, in particular those undertaken by Ofsted and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Main Duties

Compliance, Audit and Inspection

Degree Apprenticeships Management

  •  To work closely with relevant people and units to develop and maintain complex operational procedures, guidance and systems for the effective management, administration and quality assurance of DAs across the University, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues. This may include legal and contractual matters.
  •  To be responsible for the co-ordination of Registry activity relating to apprenticeships delivered by partner organisations (and other new areas of provision as required). This will include:

o    leading Registry’s input into specific workstreams, such as those relating to quality assurance, policy and/or operational matters;
o    liaising with other teams and external colleagues to ensure that all relevant colleagues are able to provide input as required, acting as a central point of contact;
o    developing, reviewing and implementing procedures, guidance and systems;
o    participating in and supporting senior committees and working groups.

Person Specification

  •  Qualified to Degree level (or equivalent).
  •  Knowledge of the UK Apprenticeships agenda and a good understanding of the national political environment relating to this area.
  •  Proven ability to manage and support projects through to successful completion.
  •  Ability to develop, implement, review and interpret policies and processes that support the ongoing delivery of complex programmes, meet internal and external regulatory requirements, and anticipate and respond effectively to stakeholders’ needs.
  •  Experience of Ofsted inspections within further or higher education.
