Currently the University has more than 8000 students and 900 staff members from 70 countries and regions worldwide, and the number is still growing.
The University offers excellent opportunities for its dedicated staff, as it works towards a shared vision and goals. Continual investment in a world-class estate delivers award-winning campuses, buildings and facilities which are unrivalled in providing inspiring places and spaces for staff and students to work, research, teach and study. UNNC is proud to acknowledge the recent achievements of 11 members of staff who were selected in the career-long database and 15 members of staff in the single year data base according to the 2022 version of “world’s Top 2% Scientists” released by Stanford University.
The Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will play a key role on the Management Board of UNNC. Working closely with the Provost, the post holder will contribute to and share ownership of key decisions, jointly leading the development and implementation of UNNC strategy and policy. This is a high-profile leadership role within the University and its global communities, and will involve proactively engaging with stakeholder, partner, industry and alumni groups. Working in collaboration with the Deans of Social Science at Nottingham UK and Nottingham Malaysia, the post holder will bring ambition and vision to the future development of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Ningbo, leveraging its significant opportunities for growth and ensuring that UNNC students and staff are supported, motivated and empowered to reach their full potential.
UNNC is seeking a forward-thinking individual to drive success, lead innovation, empower staff and students and promote truly international collaborations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills; the ability to translate a strategic vision into an effective operational model; and the communication skills to convey that vision while inspiring and motivating colleagues. With significant academic achievement in teaching and research in an area related to humanities and social sciences, they will bring senior experience of the successful delivery of operational plans and of achieving financial targets in an academic or relevant environment.
