Location: City of Leicester, ENGLAND

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented Database Officer to join our friendly and successful team in the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) as a member of the Development Services team.

Our vision is to transform society and people’s lives through delivering philanthropic and voluntary support for the University of Leicester. We advance global engagement, growing strong and enduring relationships with alumni, friends, and organisations in the local community and internationally. This is an exciting time to join our team as we have just launched the silent phase of our first comprehensive campaign.

Working from both home and campus, the DARO team follow a hybrid working pattern with a suggested pattern of two days (or more) per fortnight on campus.
About you

You are someone who takes pride in keeping accurate records, with the ability to proactively identify problems and solutions. In addition, you will provide excellent customer service, be collaborative, and contribute to and share in the team’s success.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of gift administration and using a CRM database, ideally for the purposes of fundraising, supporter relations and alumni engagement; experience manipulating and analysing significant volumes of data and presenting results in a clear, concise format; excellent IT skills including knowledge of MS Office programmes; and a good working knowledge of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other data protection / privacy legislation. Experience of the Higher Education sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
Additional information

For informal enquiries, please contact Jonathan Angell, Head of Development Services at [email protected]

We anticipate that shortlisted candidates will be invited to an informal interview via teams on 21st June 2024, including a discussion around the role and its responsibilities. Successful candidates will then be invited to attend campus in person to meet the team prior to any offers being made.

Applications for job share will be considered.
