About the role

Leicester Clinical Trials Unit is undergoing an exciting period of expansion, with new job opportunities arising as a result of an increasing portfolio of trials. We work with both nationally and internationally acclaimed investigators to deliver high quality, high impact clinical research.

We are an ambitious Unit, aiming to provide expert, solution-focussed, flexible support to our customers. Our staff are central to achieving this, and we’re looking for like-minded people to join the team.

In this varied role you will be working with Clinical Trials Unit senior/trial managers and the trial Chief/Principal Investigators, taking responsibility for the routine data entry of trial data and assisting with the initiation, organisation and administration, including postal follow-up processes, of one or more clinical trials supported by the Leicester Clinical Trials Unit (LCTU).

As a Data Entry and Clinical Trial Follow-up Clerk, you will be expected to work proactively as part of a wider team working closely with NHS clinical and academic staff to ensure the highest standards of research governance, as well as delivering the trials on time.

About you
The ideal candidate will have excellent IT and organisational skills as well as a familiarity with the use of databases. Ideally you will have previous experience working in a clinical trials environment and knowledge of the relevant ethical, legislative and research governance requirements but this is not essential.
You will have strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively individually and as part of team. You will be comfortable managing and prioritising your own workload to deal with urgent tasks, while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.  You will be joining a busy, dynamic and successful team in a role that offers varied and exciting opportunities to engage with a wide range of individuals. This role will also provide you with the opportunity to make a significant contribution to research.
