The University of Helsinki is developing a new capacity enabling its operations management to rely increasingly on statistical forecasts of operational results. The data you produce and analyse will directly affect the management of Finland’s largest university.

As a data analyst, you will collect and analyse data for the University’s senior leadership to serve as the basis for decision-making and knowledge management. You will work as part of a team responsible for analysing and visualising the data required for decisions on leadership and operations management, reviewing statistics and modelling scenarios.

About you

Reporting and analysing data and supporting and developing knowledge management require the ability to grasp broad-ranging topics. You have strong skills in statistical methods, key data analytics tools (e.g., R) and the most effective methods of visualising data. Your curiosity drives you to delve deeper into the phenomena underlying the data. You are able to produce concise surveys on a tight schedule for the needs of leadership and management. You are keen to seek increasingly effective ways to support knowledge management at different levels of the University organisation. Experience and skills in statistical forecasting will be considered an asset. You have an applicable higher education degree and good teamwork and communication skills. In addition, you have fluent oral and written English skills; passable or higher skills in Finnish will be an advantage.
