The University of Surrey Doctoral College seeks a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Data Analyst & Information Coordinator. The postholder will play a pivotal role in supporting the Postgraduate Researcher (PGR) Lifecycle by analysing data, developing and maintaining information systems, and ensuring stakeholders have access to vital information.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting continuous improvement by working closely with the PGR Systems Lifecycle Manager to identify current system limitations, develop solutions, and assess the impact of implemented changes
  • Extracting and manipulating data from systems to produce both routine and ad hoc statistical reports, management information, and trend analyses
  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for data extraction and analysis
  • Developing and maintaining user-friendly information resources on all aspects of the PGR Lifecycle for a diverse audience, including research students, supervisors, and professional services staff
  • Ensuring all information within Doctoral College systems adheres to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

About you

We’re looking for an experienced data analyst with strong operational knowledge of information systems and analysing/reporting software. You’ll have experience of various data storage and data presentation systems but will also be able to quickly adapt to using new tools and analytical methods.

You’ll have strong experience of data analysis and manipulating data to produce professional reports that meet the needs of multiple stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of information resources (such as web pages) will be key in this role, and you’ll be comfortable adapting material to a variety of audiences and channels.
