This post is based at The University of Manchester at Harwell, Harwell, Didcot, Oxfordshire. The main purpose of the post is to lead in the development of data analysis and visualisation methods. You will take responsibility for the analysis of 3D X-Ray and neutron imaging data sets, will be one of the technical authorities for data analysis and will be expected to assist and train academic users. Timely Data analysis is key to interpretation of experiment results and as the University of Manchester is becoming involved in more and more  experiments using more techniques it is expected that after  six months to a year this position will include management of a number of data analysts

You will join the new dynamic team within the University of Manchester at Harwell, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, and be involved with experiments at Diamond Light Source National Synchrotron Facility, the Central Laser Facility and ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. The local team will comprise of Professional Services (PS) technical and administrative support staff, academics, research fellows, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students based locally in Harwell, Oxfordshire. You will also engage with beamline scientists from Diamond Light Source, the ISIS neutron source, the SHE (Health & Safety Team) and University of Manchester Research Groups based locally on site at Harwell. You will also engage with a much broader academic community across University staff based in Manchester and various academic, governmental and industrial collaborators both nationally and internationally. You will play an integral part in the development of world-leading research for applying synchrotron science to key research challenges.

This is a full time appointment and salary will be £36,024 to £44,263 (Grade 6) per annum according to relevant experience + £3000 Location Supplement.
