The post will play a leading role in the strategic development of the University’s partnership at the Digital Security Hub (DiSH) in Manchester, (a collaboration between Barclays, Plexal, Lancaster University and the University of Manchester), ensuring it develops as a physical innovation hub bringing together academics and external cyber, security and related organisations in order to  create a vibrant innovation eco-system. The DiSH will be a strategic satellite for Lancaster University as part of the Northwest Cyber Corridor – an emerging internationally leading cyber innovation ecosystem stretching across the Northwest.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience of partnership development, marketing, promotion, skills in social media and a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector organisations interested in cyber and security related research and innovation collaborations and partnerships. Established relevant networks relating to Cyber Security, Defence and related disciplines in Manchester would be desirable. Please note that this role is based at the Digital Security Hub building in Manchester City centre, and not at Lancaster University campus.

We have unique strengths in safe, secure, and resilient digital and cyber systems ranging from forensic and network security to interdisciplinary research at the social and technical interface. We also assist businesses to defend, innovate and grow through a range of engagement mechanisms. The University hosts two nationally leading significant cross-disciplinary research institutes working across the socio-technical interfaces of security and cyber – Security Lancaster and the Data Science Institute. Lancaster is also the lead institution in CREST - the multi-million pound ESRC-funded UK hub for behavioural and social science research into security threats.

The role of Cyber Innovation Associate sits within the Research and Enterprise Services (RES) division. Candidates should contact James Livsey, Cyber Innovation Manager ([email protected] ) with any questions, or informal discussions regarding the role.

You will join us on an indefinite contract, however, the role remains contingent on external funding which, at this time comes to an end on the 24th of April 2025.
